One of the biggest leap in a company nowadays exist in organizational transformation, but it also give the leaders a question for challenge in order to maintain a sustainable change. The statement acts as an introduction to start our 10th Global Indonesian Network that was held in Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia, Semanggi Campus.  Twenty-two participants from various companies as well as media and academicians took an active place in presentation and discussion. DHL, Panorama Group, Navigat Energy, Saratoga Investama, Orang Tua Group, and MRA Group are selected list from company’s participants.

P1010212Striving to maintaining the uniqueness of GI-Net’s events, two speakers were presented different point of view about the theme – current business practices as well as extensive research approach. Prof. Dr. Hora Tjitra (Executive Director of Tjitra Management Consulting ; Associate Professor for Applied Psychology, Zhejiang University – China) shared that for the business practicians, having one good year is easy, but achieving continued profitable growth is a rare exception. Then, doing business the right way is about managing change, wrether it is internal or external. Prof. Hora quoted the STARS (Start-up, Turnaround, Accelerated Growth, Realignment, and Sustaining Success) framework to assess business situations and helping new leaders figure out how to tailor their strategies, and themselves accordingly. After the assessment, then he shared the detailed strategic framework of organizational transformation, that consists organizational structure, process & system, people, culture, as well as information & communication. Last but not least, Prof. Hora shared his international best practice in consultancy with the focus on organizational change. 

IMG_0025From business perspective, Mr. Y.W Junardy shared that business sustainability implied gradual change and becoming current business trend. Economic growth, social equality, and environmental management should be business leaders’ main concern in order to maintain long lasting advantage. In the other hand, paying attention to those issues required a shift in business mindset, since it did not correlated directly with profit. Mr. Junardy also share his views in how business people can contribute within its sphere of influence: start from the core business activities –> include the base principles in strategy – vision – mission –> supply chain –> community interaction –> public policy. In short, he highlighted the main point that each of us able to contribute, and that each small action counts.

Interactive discussion, that became participant’s favourite part from all sessions, emphasize participant’s amazement about the systematic framework in leading change that Prof. Hora shares, as well as new insight and knowledge that Mr. Junardy shared.
