Regensburg University of Applied Sciences, Germany, organized an international symposium on "Perspectives of Intercultural Competence" to honor the seventieth birthday of Prof. Dr. Alexander Thomas in late November 2009.
Dr. Tjitra was invited to present his research on "Chinese Intercultural Competence and Sensitivity", which offered him the chance to congratulate and meet again with his "Doktorvater" (German word for PhD supervisor) and old colleagues. The two-day international symposium was a great success, with an open and constructive discussion above the current issues and trends on the theory of "cultural standard" and "intercultural competence".
