In order to develop competent and effective teams to meet Asian (and global) customer needs, the demand of Asian leaders who is able to work in multicultural environment and manage the team with different cultural background becomes much greater than ever. Our recent study of cross-cultural leadership focused on best practices from Indonesian leaders who has proven themselves successfully working in the international environment, either in Indonesia or abroad, and instigating learning tools as well as recommendations for organizational systems to support Indonesian culturally effective leaders.

To deepened the result through case studies, we conducted in-depth-interview with three participants, which are Indonesian leaders who had working through international assignments in China, Singapore, Malaysia, US and Japan. This ongoing research, which had begin since 2010, is a collaboration between Zhejiang University (China) and Atma Jaya University (Indonesia), supported by Human Capital Leadership Institute (Singapore).

The first phase of research (2011) had been closed with an international seminar with the theme of: from local manager to global leaders. As a continuation about the seminar, another Global Indonesian Network event was held in Atma Jaya on May 15th, 2012.  Mr. Y.W.
